Lareine Engineering offers a wide range of glazing options to suit all budgets and requirements. Our rooflights have been tested to ACR(M)001:2011 'Test for non-fragility of profiled sheeted and large element roofing assemblies' and are classed as Non-Fragile Class “B” with a minimum of 8mm Toughened outer pane to the glass unit. This classification also applies where polycarbonate is used.
Glass
Typical glazing specification for our glass rooflights is as follows:
Sealed double glazed units comprising 6.0mm clear toughened outer pane/16mm air gap argon filled, 6.4mm Low ‘E’ laminate inner pane to give a centre pane ‘U’ value of 1.1 W/M²K and an overall 'U' Value of 1.4W/m²K. Other glass can be fitted if required to suit your requirements.
Other specifications including solar control, self cleaning and etched/obscure glazing can be supplied on request.
Polycarbonate
Typical glazing specification for our polycarbonate rooflights is as follows:
4mm UV coated polycarbonate inner skin, 16mm air gap, 10mm clear UV coated polycarbonate outer. The glazing is Makrolon Mono Longlife UV resistant polycarbonate sheet. 10 Year warranty on breakage, excessive yellowing and loss of light transmission. Fire Rating: Makrolon 2099 when tested to BS 476 Part 3 is rated AA surface spread of flame to BS 476 Part 7 Class 1. Class O material to Building Regulation 1985. TP(a) rigid classification as described in approved Document B of Building Regulation 1991.
